Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):I have heard that the Polio vaccine is a live vaccine and that the stools of recently vaccinated children are infectious. Is this true and if so how do I deal with possible contact from infectious children to my unvaccinated child especially in the swimming pool?
Also children under 3 years synthesise the natural Polio virus very well and it can be no more than a stomach upset that lasts for a few days leaving the child naturally immune for life. When using Homoeopathy as an alternative to this disease the homoeopath needs to look at the child's digestive, muscular and nervous system to see if they are susceptible or weak in these areas, which may cause them to be susceptible to the secondary infection of Polio. The primary infection is mild and well synthesized by a healthy immune system; the secondary infection where the virus moves into the nervous system, causing the paralysis that we have all heard of, is far more serious. This is the case with all the infectious diseases; there is a primary and secondary infection. A healthy immune system will deal with the infection in its primary state. A weak or susceptible constitution does not deal with it so effectively and then there is the risk of it becoming more serious. However, even with this scenario there are many well tried and tested homoeopathic remedies for all eventualities. So back to the infectious, vaccinated child. Common hygiene is the most important thing. Good hygiene is responsible for removing more infectious diseases from our environment than any vaccination. If people are careful when changing nappies and are aware that their child is infectious for up to 6 weeks after the Polio vaccination then there is very little risk to unvaccinated children. Also to decide not to use orthodox vaccinations means that you need to ensure that your child is in peak health. Homoeopathy is one way of achieving this but also Naturopathy, Herbalism, good nutrition etc. are all effective and creative methods of health care. Most swimming pools are so full of disinfecting chemicals that it is very unlikely that the Polio virus would survive. It is much more likely that your child would develop coughs and colds from the swimming pool environment rather than Polio. Taking the unvaccinated route is often scary. You need to be sure of what you are doing and feel confident in your chosen system of health care. Then be brave and have faith in life.
When other mothers hear that I have not vaccinated my child they become very angry and tell me that I am putting all their children at risk by not partaking in the "Herd Immunity" that the rest of the responsible people are doing. What is "Herd Immunity" and is this true that I am being totally irresponsible? This is a very common and humiliating comment. Because of government propaganda the vaccination issues have become extremely emotional and everyone is afraid. Parents can become very aggressive over this issue and it can be very frightening. To me, comments about herd immunity lack any real logic. If a child has been vaccinated, and is then deemed to be immune, surely the logic behind it is that the child is then not "at risk". Why then would this child then suddenly be "at risk" again? It does not make any sense. True herd immunity we already have in certain parts of the world where a disease, i.e. measles has been a serious killer disease for centuries and is now a mild and relatively harmless disease because of inherited immunity. Inherited, genetic immunity is far better than the false, toxic immunity gained by vaccination and in fact the vaccination programme is now preventing this natural progressive immunity from developing.
Someone told me that you could use "Nosodes" as a homoeopathic vaccination; can you please tell me more about this? It is not possible to vaccinate using Homoeopathy. This is a modern myth. Nosodes are remedies made from diseased matter, i.e. the homoeopathic remedy Morbilinum is made from human tissue infected with measles (probably taken by a swab of the throat of an infected child) and made into a homoeopathic medicine by the usual method of dilution and succussion. These remedies are very useful in that they can strengthen any areas of the immune system that may be susceptible to the infection of measles. They act almost as a tonic to the immune system but they are not necessary in developing sound health. They are the cherry on the cake. The real work done in Homoeopathy is by constitutional prescribing to strengthen, create good health and develop a sound immune system. The best work done by Nosodes is in local epidemics. For example should there be an outbreak of whooping cough in a local area then it is well worth giving the nosode Pertussin to any children in that vicinity. This will give their immune system a boost to be able to deal with that disease effectively. This is also a very good way of dealing with travel. Nosodes can be used on a regular basis while travelling in high-risk areas to boost the immune system against tropical diseases such as typhoid, cholera etc.
I live in the country and am very afraid of my child developing Tetanus from playing in the fields. I'm not sure whether to do this vaccination and not the others or if there is an alternative? It is true that children are more at risk from developing Tetanus if they live in the country or anywhere where there area lot of horses. Tetanus mainly lives in horses dung but also sheep and rarely human excreta. However it is also very difficult to get. The conditions have to be just right for Tetanus to develop in the body and it does not live in oxygen. If a wound can be cleaned so it is exposed to the air then Tetanus will never develop. It is only deep or very dirty wounds that cannot be cleaned where the Tetanus infection may develop. Then there has to be just the right chemical reactions within the body for it to survive. The routine way in which Tetanus shots are given is totally out of proportion and the vaccination has its own set of side effects. So first of all see if the wound warrants worrying about. If it is a
nasty accident and the child has to go to hospital they will be given
a Tetanus shot anyway unless you specifically ask them not to. There are
two wonderful homoeopathic remedies that should be in everyone's first
aid kit, which will firstly deal with shock, secondly start the healing
process and thirdly are anti-tetanus. If you feel you cannot handle the anxiety of your child possibly developing this serious disease than have the vaccination and use a remedy before and after to reduce the side effects. This is one way of dealing with this issue but the child is never quite the same and if they already have a weak nervous system it would not be advisable.
